Security Issue Affecting Elsevier My Evolve

Elsevier has confirmed that the potential security issue involving My Evolve was an isolated incident in which users were redirected to a third-party webpage. The redirection has been resolved, and Elsevier’s cybersecurity team found no indication of unauthorized access to Elsevier content, data or systems.

Users may now resume accessing My Evolve. The Elsevier integration with Brightspace has also been restored.

Update

We are continuing efforts to obtain official confirmation from Elsevier that My Evolve is safe to access. Until then, please do not log in to My Evolve, even if the service appears to be available. The Elsevier integration with Brightspace remains temporarily disconnected.

As a precaution, if you use the same password for My Evolve as you do for your AU Okta account, please change your AU Okta password as soon as possible. Refer to the "Reset Password or MFA" guide at https://itshelp.aurora.edu/hc/en-us/articles/40816023595415-Reset-Password-or-MFA for instructions.

We will provide another update when more information is available.

Investigating

We are investigating a potential security issue involving Elsevier My Evolve. The service may appear to be available; however, please do not log in until we receive confirmation from Elsevier that it is safe to access.

As a precaution, ITS has temporarily disconnected the Elsevier integration from Brightspace. No other AU IT applications are connected to Elsevier.
